I wanna post this... for 2 reasons. 1 is my Ali like return to the world of online poker. 2 is for my fallen commrade Tronner... who suffered a horrific beat and I hope this shows that the best hand does win sometimes.

Pre-flop:

XXXXXXXX raises to $.40. PAAAAT folds. krebsd37
folds. DAVE MATTHEWS folds. FINN2WIN folds.
Jawful folds. WhoIsPhaedrus folds. Loded calls.
dark poet calls.

(Well with aces... I raised only 4x as the last hand everyone folded to the blinds... but the 2 looser players called in the blinds.)

Flop (board: 6 9 5):

**(For the analysis... dark poet shows J K)

Loded checks. dark poet checks. XXXXXXXX bets
$1.25. Loded folds. dark poet raises to $4.95.
XXXXXXXX re-raises to $16.05. dark poet goes all-in
for $9.70. XXXXXXXX is returned $6.35 (uncalled).

(This is the thing about knowing what your opponent has and how to play against them. At the start there is $1.20 in the pot. I bet the pot as it is standard to win the pot right there and to not give drawing hands any odds to call against me. The best case scenario is someone playing a9 or k9 and hitting top pair. The re-raise didn't really surprize me because this particular player had done this in the past and he could only have 3 possible hands. Most likely hand is the a9 or k9 I was talking about and put that about 45%. The 2nd most likely hand was a 67 suited or even a kx suited for diamonds. Also put this about 45%. Last hand was a small pair with trips or a 68 in that range. Even if he hit 2 pair, I could still outdraw him but this I only put about 20%. For sake of time I will look at the 2nd case.

Assuming I was best I pushed all my chips in... and that put the pot at 22.20 and he had to call off his last 10$ to match. He was getting his 2:1 odds to call but if we look at the poker odds, I was exactly a 2:1 favorite at this point. Even though the odds just gave him enough to call correctly, he still had to call 10$ on nothing more then a draw with only 5$ invested in the pot. I guess I can't fault him for his call, but I never like putting money in the pot with just a draw. There is no way he coulda thought a king or jack would have made him best.)
